Friday, October 9th was an eight-game Friday in the Midwest Esports Association, and the biggest story was never really in doubt — More Than Enough is 14 and 0, and they are not playing around. The undefeated juggernaut swept For The Dawgs in a two-game series, winning 81-58 at home and then 71-44 on the road. IPlaymakerEI was the engine all day long, dropping 25 points in Game 1 and then turning it up to 30 in Game 2 — also adding 7 assists in that second outing. But the full-roster effort is what's scary: Morrisvillee quietly put together an 11-assist, 17-point double-double in Game 1, and Titan ODT was a walking stat sheet — 18 points, 16 rebounds, 7 assists, and 4 steals for a double-double in Game 1, then pulling down 16 more boards in Game 2. More Than Enough isn't just winning, they're embarrassing people.
WOLF handled their business against Toneville in both games, taking Game 1 by a dominant 82-40 margin and grinding out a tighter 59-54 win in Game 2. Lxrdly led the scoring with 27 in the blowout, but the real workhorse was F the 2kL — a double-double in both games, finishing with 13 and 14 rebounds respectively, adding 4 assists, 2 blocks, and 3 steals in Game 2. That's a two-way monster. Toneville's Wayne Wick showed fight in Game 2 with 21 points and 8 assists, but it wasn't enough to hold off the wolves. WOLF improves to 12-2 and sits firmly at No. 2 in the league.
The ZULU vs. Ice in our veins series was a wild split. ZULU won Game 1 at home 75-46 behind Stex4525's 33-point explosion and Eazy GL's double-double — 14 points, 12 rebounds, 4 blocks, and 2 steals on the winning side. But Ice in our veins responded in Game 2 with a 81-54 road win of their own. vMobbin went for 27 points and 11 rebounds — a double-double on the losing side of Game 1 — and carried that momentum into the second game. Despite the split, Ice in our veins remains on a 6-game losing streak overall, so the series win is a moral victory at best.
Hoop Dreams and Above Gravity also split their two-game set, with Hoop Dreams taking the series. l vSuper l led Hoop Dreams in scoring in both games — 27 in Game 1 and 22 in Game 2. PlugCal was the quiet backbone with a double-double: 11 points, 16 rebounds, and 8 assists in Game 1. On the other side, Juicexbhf of Above Gravity was absolutely relentless on the glass — a double-double in both games, hauling in 17 rebounds in Game 1 and a jaw-dropping 20 rebounds in Game 2. Above Gravity sits at 3-13, but Juicexbhf is giving that squad everything they've got.
