Hoop Dreams were 0-8 walking into this one and looking for any sign of life — and they found it early, never letting go. PlugCal hit a three at 1:51 of the first quarter to put Hoop Dreams ahead 10-9 for good, and from that point forward this game belonged to one team. Hoop Dreams spent 16:50 in front, built a lead as large as 21 points, and closed it out 73-55 in regulation — a statement win in a season that had been nothing but L's.

xHydra2k was the engine, dropping 24 points on 9-of-15 FG and 4-of-7 from three to go with 8 assists and 0 turnovers — an immaculate floor game. PlugCal backed that up with a double-double: 15 points, 12 rebounds, 6 assists, and not a single turnover on 6-of-9 FG. llllPhiellll was ice cold from deep, going 4-of-5 from three for 12 points. On the Toneville side, Wayne Wick kept firing — 19 points, 5-of-10 from three, including a trio of threes in the fourth quarter — but it was far too little, far too late. Gfrankk50, streaming the film, chipped in 17 points and 3-of-5 from three for Toneville.

Hoop Dreams entered this game on a six-game skid; Toneville came in at 2-6 after dropping back-to-back games to Ice in our veins. In the Midwest Esports Association standings, both squads needed this one — and Hoop Dreams took it decisively.
