Monday, August 17th delivered 18 games and an absolute monster of a storyline: xbankkx of the Red Reapers put up 59 points — FIFTY-NINE — with 17 assists in a double-double for the ages, and still walked away with a loss. Light Purple Havocs outlasted the Red Reapers 134–130 in the highest-scoring game of the day, with iShootfirst8 answering every punch with a double-double of his own — 45 points and 21 assists. That's two players combining for over 100 points and 38 assists in a single game. The Havocs have now won four straight and are firmly entrenched as the West's best, while xbankkx — who also posted double-doubles in wins over the Gold Getters (39/14 ast, 38/13 ast) and TRU MINT (44/11 ast, 32/12 ast) — is simply doing everything short of winning every game by himself.
Speaking of the Havocs, iShootfirst8 was everywhere today. In addition to that 134–130 thriller, he dropped 35 points with 12 assists in a 115–75 blowout of the Red Reapers, and added 33 points and 12 assists in a win over Black Legends. iShootfirst8 is genuinely not human right now. Meanwhile RacksDragAlot of All The Smoke quietly delivered the most complete line of the day — 11 points, 19 rebounds, and 14 assists for a triple-double as the league-leading Smoke handled the Brown Skidmarks 102–77. That's a stat line you frame on the wall.
The Brown Skidmarks had one of the busiest days in the league, playing six games and going 4–2. lIsolation- was the engine, dropping 45 in a 97–79 win over the Navy Blue Devils and 30 in a tight 77–76 edge over Sky Blue. The Skidmarks also slipped past Sky Blue again 74–71 and beat Teal twice, but dropped a close one to All The Smoke 74–76 and fell 74–79 to Teal in one of the day's wilder splits. The Navy Blue Devils drop their fourth straight — that L4 skid is getting uncomfortable for a team that was once a top-four squad.
Elsewhere, the Black Legends snapped a losing streak with an 81–70 road win over the Gold Getters, with Ken3slime dishing 17 assists to lead the way. The Gold Getters did get revenge in the rematch, winning 80–77 at home, so both squads split — but the Legends will take any momentum they can get after going 2–8 in their last 10. And Teal? Still on a 10-game losing streak entering today, they went ahead and beat the Brown Skidmarks 74–79 on their own floor. tri JDOGG led the way with 27 points and 9 assists, and Quis-HGH grabbed 13 boards. Small victories, but the Teal faithful will take it.
