Thursday, August 13 — 16 games. Let's get into it.
The biggest story of the day is All The Smoke, and honestly it's not close. They are a PROBLEM. All The Smoke went 2-0 on the day, beating TRU MINT 109-75 and then 119-73, and they haven't lost in 13 straight games. But forget the wins for a second — let's talk about RacksDragAlot. In the second game, this man posted a certified triple-double: 19 points, 17 rebounds, and 23 assists. Twenty. Three. Assists. That's not a stat line, that's a cheat code. Meanwhile TTvfettychuck did the heavy lifting on the scoring end, dropping 53 points in the first matchup with 13 assists to go along with it. TRU MINT had no answers, and All The Smoke now sit 28-8 — the class of the entire league.
Orange Crush had themselves a full day at the office — three wins, zero losses. They handled Maroon 5 twice (99-65 and 99-80) and then survived a wild one against Green Lightning, 129-124. xUpperPrime was the engine all day long, going for 30 points and 25 assists in the high-scoring affair against Green Lightning — a double-double that doubled as a masterclass in running an offense. Eyem-Tuff of Green Lightning was incredible even in the loss, finishing with 36 points and 18 rebounds for a double-double, but it wasn't enough. Orange Crush have now won 4 straight and are absolutely cooking at 21-17.
The Red Reapers quietly put together one of the best days in the league — they swept Purple Reign in both matchups, winning 89-66 and 84-76 to push their win streak to SIX. TyGeekedup led the charge both games, scoring 28 and 30 respectively. Purple Reign did get a small consolation — they edged Black Legends 59-58 in a nail-biter, with Secludes dropping 25 to lead the way. Speaking of Black Legends, they also handled Purple Reign 57-46 in a separate game, so it was a complicated day for Purple Reign — they went 1-2 and are now 7-23 and dropping fast.
Elsewhere, Navy Blue Devils swept Camo Elite in their two-game set — 97-82 and 73-65 — to stay locked in at third in the East. saint_the_kid33 went OFF for 60 points in the first game, which is simply absurd. Neon Green edged the Bronze Bombers 86-83 in a close one, but JBucketzTV made sure everyone remembered his name on the way out — 40 points and 13 assists in the loss for a double-double. And Mulberry Sentinels swept Teal in both directions, winning 70-66 on the road and 76-66 at home, with llCBandzzzll doing a little bit of everything and CantHit3sss dropping 28 in the home win. Teal has now lost 6 straight. That's a rough stretch.
